CLUB MOTTO ‘TO WIN FAIRLY – TO LOSE WITH HONOUR’
The Club was formed in 1979 by John H Gibson MBE who remains as President Chairman and Secretary. All connected with Rangers are required to abide by the motto “To Win Fairly to Lose with Honour”.
From a modest start of one team at Under 9’s in 1979. We now have 12 teams competing, from Under 7’s to Under 18’s, with approximately 220 registered players.
Bridlington Rangers actively encourage boys and girls from all backgrounds to participate in the sport no matter what their ability and the club runs training sessions for players from the age of 4 years old.
All Bridlington Rangers Junior Football teams compete in the Hull Boys Sunday Football League. This is one of the largest and most competitive leagues in the country. It has 12 age groups with each age group averaging around 4 leagues.
Bridlington Rangers has achieved the FA accreditation of FA Development Club. This is the second highest accreditation that a club can attain. Bridlington Rangers has plans to achieve the FA Community Club, which is the highest accreditation possible. In order to achieve these accolades the club must under go a rigorous annual health check by the FA and prove that it is worthy of these honours been renewed.
Bridlington Rangers takes child welfare and development very seriously and all team managers are FA qualified coaches and regularly attend first aid courses, child safeguarding courses, respect for diversity courses, along with FA development courses.
All Managers and Assistants under go an application and interview process prior to been appointed and are then subject to CRB/DBS full enhanced checks.
Bridlington Rangers has a designated Child Welfare Officer, a written constitution, a management committee, a child welfare policy, codes of conduct for players, managers and parents and a formal complaints procedure.
